Dar es Salaam. With the dust still settling after Francis Cheka refused to fight Japhet Kaseba in a non-title bout, Dar es Salaam boxing fans are promised yet another high-profile bout this month. Cheka, rated as the country’s professional boxing sensation, will step into the ring again on July 29 for the Inter Continental fight against Karama Nyilawila at the PTA Hall. The eagerly awaited fight has been organised by Africa Kabisa Entertainment and sanctioned by Pugilist Syndicate of Tanzania (PST) Fight coordinator Osward “Makele” Mlay confirmed yesterday that preparations for the bout were on course. “Boxing fans should expect a major treat on July 29 for there will be six supporting bouts featuring some of the best boxers in the country,” said Mlay. For his part, Cheka predicted a tough fight, describing Nyilawila as one of the boxers he fears most. "It is an undeniable fact that Nyilawila is one of the country’s best boxers, but my supporters should expect an easy ride from me,” he said. |
